Kenneth Sloan
Owner

My love of the water began in South Alabama while visiting with my grandparents and brother who lived in the Mobile and Fairhope area.  I can vividly remember summers of deep sea fishing as a young boy with my grandfather, father, and brother. In 1978, my father purchased our first ski boat. I spent the next several years enjoying the waters of Rend Lake in Southern Illinois. Throughout the years, I have owned a 25’ Rinker, a 44’ Gibson houseboat, a 50’ Gibson houseboat, and in 2005 I purchased my 55’ Sea Ray Sundancer. I have 40+ years experience navigating the waters of Rend Lake, Ohio River, Mississippi River, Cumberland River, Tennessee River, Lake Barkley, and Kentucky Lake. My most recent adventure was a bucket list 6-day journey with my son, Derek Sloan, and my girlfriend, Marietta Gibson, navigating One Fathom Under from northern Kentucky Lake (Moors Marina and Resort) to Destin Harbor, Destin, FL. This journey included Kentucky Lake, Tennessee River, Tombigbee Waterway, Tombigbee River, Mobile River, Mobile Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico. A trip of a lifetime! I have gained over 40 years of experience while boating with my family and friends. I’ve dreamed of moving to Destin since I vacationed in Sandestin in 1990. I’ve owned a condo at the Pelican Beach Resort since 2003.
